3 Important Reasons to Look for a Diesel-Powered People Mover

When you're looking for a new people mover, it's common to pay more attention to what's inside the cabin than what's under the hood. However, you should really think about the engine just as much as you focus on how spacious and versatile the cabin is, and it's a good idea to look for a diesel.

Here are just three reasons why diesel engines and people movers are a match made in heaven.

1.Exceptional Reliability

It's fair to say that most drivers looking for people movers are part of a larger family. If you have more than two or three children, a people mover is really your best option. Of course, the more kids you have the less time you'll have on your hands, which is why going for a diesel model makes sense. Diesel engines don't burn as hot as petrol engines, and they are made to withstand higher rates of compression. Since they don't use spark plugs or distributors, they never need ignition tune-ups. The upshot is that you won't need to worry as much about routine maintenance, and you'll be less likely to lose your people mover for a few days so repairs can be conducted.

2. High Torque Ratings

Diesel engines typically don't offer as much horsepower as petrol engines, but that's fine because they compensate by offering significantly more torque. Horsepower might be a more well-known measure, but it relates more to top speed than anything else. In contrast, torque is concerned with pulling power – you need high torque to get moving quickly at low speeds. Since people movers tend to be quite heavy, especially with all seats filled, it's a high torque rating that you really need. Sure, you might not win any races, but you'll overtake easily and find yourself pulling away from traffic lights swiftly.

3. High Efficiency Scores

One of the most commonly cited reasons to get a diesel vehicle is that they are far more efficient than petrol vehicles. This is because diesel fuel is more energy-dense than petrol. Since it contains more energy, it delivers superior fuel economy. That's great for any kind of driver, but it's particularly advantageous for those behind the wheel of a people mover. These are quite large and heavy vehicles, meaning that fuel economy tends to be lower than in a sedan or hatchback, but you can mitigate that issue by going with a diesel. You'll spend less money at the pump, and you'll be able to drive longer without having to keep checking your fuel level – a real plus for busy parents.

About Me

Auto Electrical Faults

Yo! Welcome to my new blog. My name is Tim and I live in downtown Brisbane with my friends. I recently left school and got a job which allowed me to save up for my very first car. Man, I love it. I have always dreamt of owning a car. I didn't have lots of cash so I had to buy a pretty cheap car. Because my car is so old, it has had one or two problems. The biggest issue was with the electrical system. The windows wouldn't open, the headlights were dim and sometimes the car wouldn't start. Thankfully, I found a great auto service company who fixed all the problems for me. I learnt a lot from the mechanics there so I decided to start this blog.
